Multi-team effort involving design, sales, and executive teams
Internal company hackathon experience, Lookout brand swag
Lookout is a cybersecurity company that makes it possible to keep your data secure. As data goes mobile, Lookout closes the security gap for both individuals and enterprises. Lookout is based in San Francisco with over 7 offices worldwide.
As the sole communications designer on the team, I was responsible for maintaining both the internal and external brand. Notable internally-focused projects include designing the company handbook, internal presentation templates, and all-hands presentation decks.
My team was also responsible for creating the employee experience for the yearly companywide hackathons and designing the product swag.
Break things to make them better.
Company hackathons are an essential ingredient in Lookout's culture. Lookout Hackathons take place once a year and last for several days during which employees collaborate cross-functionally on projects. Many of the projects launched during the hackathons become actual features in the product.
As a design team, we were responsible for:
- Determining the themes for the hackathons, which are voted on by the hackathon teams and approved by the executive team
- Designing internal posters and promotional materials for the hackathon
- Designing and sourcing the winning teams trophies, badges, and swag
Below are samples of the artwork I created for the event from 2015. The theme was "Making Magic Happen." I wanted the artwork to be very detailed and feel mysterious. I drew inspiration from many sources including vintage circus and magician posters to modern day geometric, contemporary art.
Celebrating team wins.
